On June 20, the opening ceremony of Rafting Gabala, the country's first and only rafting center, took place. The meeting was attended by Shabnam Farman, Chief Executive Officer of Gabala Hospitality Group, Sabuhi Abdullayev, Head of the Executive Power of Gabala District, representatives of Azerbaijan Canoe and Rowing Federation and Turkey Canoe Federation, international experts, media representatives, and representatives of the district community.

Shabnam Farman, Chief Executive Officer of "Gabala Hospitality Group" announced the event: "We are pleased with the development of water sports in our country. We started this project because of the magnificent nature of Gabala. We believe that rafting entertainment will give our customers a different experience and will greatly contribute to increasing the tourism potential of Gabala. We dedicate today's event to the 100th anniversary of National Leader Heydar Aliyev."

Later, the head of the Executive Power of Gabala region, Sabuhi Abdullayev, also spoke and expressed his satisfaction with the presence of rafting in Gabala, which is a novelty for the country.

At the opening event, representatives of the Azerbaijan Canoe and Rowing Federation, international experts, technical instructors answered the questions of media representatives.

At the end, the rafting boats were lowered into the water and moved successfully to the finish point.

Rafting is a water sport-entertainment that moves in inflatable boats on mountain rivers with a high flow rate. No special skills are required to use this entertainment. The route of "Rafting Gabala" is 14 km, and the time required to cover the distance from the starting point to the finishing point is 40 minutes.
